I live in Winterville, Georgia, near Athens, and I'm new to this whole thing. I have a Bounty Hunter Lone Star metal detector that my dad gave me for Christmas several years ago, and I've just started really using it in the last couple of weeks. I'm going to be modifying a stud/metal sensor this weekend to use as a pinpointer, and once that's done I'll want to do some serious relic hunting. Since I'm new to it, I'd like some advice, but I'd like to learn from someone that can work with me in person. If anyone near Athens is looking for a partner or is willing to help me and knows of some good locations, please let me know.
