There is a variety of doubling in the IN GOD WE TRUST on the 1967 which may command higher prices, especially in high grades. It is impossible to give an intelligible answer to an unintelligible question. "Anyone know what the deal is with 1967 quarter?" is not an intelligible question. Anyone know why the price is so high on ebay is a good question. ebay is where you will find error coins, dd's (that's doubled die to you) and rare varieties that you may not see listed in the red book, so the price seems abnormally high. This phenomenon can be seen with any coins, newer or older, not just the 1967 quarter. Mystery solved. :occasion18:

I don't really see it. I just spent some time checking ebay sold listings ,run of the mill uncirculated are selling for as little as .45 to a couple of dollars, slabbed ms67s are going for anywhere from $5.50 to $30, ms68 for as little as $13.45. A couple of cameo ms68 did break a hundred dollars. There are some plain old circulated coins going for a couple dollars, might be some folks don't realize there is no silver in them.

You should try posting in the coins forum. My guess would be doubling or some other rarity.

There is always someone on ebay trying to rip someone off..............They think they can get some one to pay there rip off price and i guess it does work at times...............Example ..I was looking for a part for my vacum ..on ebay last week......... Price from the company new..$44.00...... most on ebay $15.00 to $30.00.......... but there it was the part for sale by a crooked ebayer... $97.00...... And you find that a lot on ebay....I guess they do hook a sucker now and then...

I know that 67 quarters are worth $ 16.25, no matter what condition they are in.

Slabbed and graded MS-66 are selling for $10-14. Slabbed and graded MS-68 $45. Normal circulated '67 are worth....$0.25 except to collectors.
If you look at '68, '69 etc...the story is the same so there is nothing really special about '67.

Ebay is actually a very good resource for market trends. The only thing is you can't just look at listings. Only look at auctions-only and completed listings. As others have said, people can ask any amount they want for something (and they do) but the only thing that matters is what people are paying for it.

...and, yes, I use my asstrical PhD any chance I get. :laughing7:
