I have tried some knock off brand in my detector, and they lasted me a season of light use. I just put a set of Rayovacs in and they only lasted me about 8 hours. I was looking at Duracell Procells, as they are only $1.50 a piece on amazon. I also saw Kodaks for $2 on kellyco. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what batteries worked best for them.

The best batteries I've ever personally used are the of all things Walgreen's brand batteries. They last a long time in any application I have used them in. Detectors, grand kids toys, game cameras. The Walgreen alkaline batteries are cheap and I buy them only when they are on sale. Excellent quality and better than any of the name brands imo.
