Has anyone ever did any metal detecting on the North Sulphur River near Ladonia in Texas? I have done some fossil hunting before and was wondering if it would be worth the trip?

I see that your question was posted in April. I just found it because I searched "North Sulphur River". The short answer is Yes I did metal detect there once, a year ago. I ,too have walked it many times fossil hunting (awesome place), and remembered seeing bullets in the gravel washes and especially behind larger stones. Remembering that, I went back after I got into the hobby of MD. This time, no bullets! If I remember correctly, the haul included aluminum cans, pull tabs, and a big hit produced an old rusty garden rake. However, was thinking about going today and trying again, and checked on here to see what anybody else might have posted about the place. I guess there's at least two of us. I'll update later about any finds, unless it's the matching hoe.
