Been detecting for over 40 years and have found some interesting relics from gun parts to iron trade tomahawk heads as well as a good variety of coin types. A gold or dollar coin has successfully eluded me thus far, but I still think the Indianhead cent has always been my favorite.

I absolutely love finding squashed pennies, the ones that have been run through the souvenir machines. I have developed a great collection from all over the country.

If it weren't for the evidence in my change, according to the late night televised coin shows, the only coin that exists is the American Silver Eagle brutally caged in plastic holders.

Gawd I've got a number of favorites...Franklin Halves, Standing Liberty Quarters, Walking Liberty Halves, British Half Pennies, IH's, and any foreign coin I snag while Coin Roll Hunting.

A former co worker collects those. He even went to a kid's dentist office to get one to add to his collection. I've given him a couple I've found detecting.

Buffalo nickel has got to be one of my favorites. I especially like the 1oz. American Buffalo for obvious reasons. I also really like the pre-33 quarter eagles.

I assume by favorites that you mean ones you have actually found? I have tons of favorites that I haven't found yet! Of the found coins, the Morgan dollar is my favorite.

I absolutely love pennies and cents. All kinds except zinc, they just feel fake..
Indian heads are my number one, but any non-clad US coin I find really cool. I also really like finding tokens and other non-monetary coins.

The picture is a computer painting I did based on a sketch in deVinci's handbook.
Yes, and it's a story that will never be told. Most successful cache hunters are not story tellers. Frank...

Oh good I was hoping that it wasn't a self portrait cause that dude is ugly! Looks like a salmon. You don't have to tell us where you found the coin, just some basic information. Was it with a detector? Looks to pristine to have been in the ground.

It was in a jar, but I have found other gold coins in the ground and they look good to. You have been looking at to many Zinkons from the ground. lol
So you think that guy looks bad! Check these out. Frank... PS: If you click on them they get bigger and with good eyes you can read the captons .

111-2 700Warrior Head.jpg 111-2 de Vinci.jpg
111-2 head.jpg 068-LEDA.jpg hay, one out of 6 ain't bad. That's better than my cache find ratio.
The one with the beard is deVinci. I use a program called Painter 9.5. You put in the sketch and use as a guide to paint in the computer, then you remove the sketch guide. I have one of deVinci's sketch books. There are many.
