Some of the newer detectors could be better suited for bad iron mineralized ground. The Garrett AT Pro ($595) has manual ground balance. The Teknetics G2 ($749) has dual processors with a weaker beep on rejected iron. Brand new Teknetics Eurotek Pro is also supposed to be very good in iron, with proprietary design to better handle iron ground, without the need for ground balancing. Price with a 8" concentric coil is $219, or $299 with an 11" double D coil (double D likely better in bad ground). It can have iron sound off loud, weak, or not at all, just flash. It detects coins close to junk.

These detectors were created so even those places in Europe could be detected that have 1,000 year iron accumulation. ID is supposed to be good to 8", depth reading to 9" (also reads in centimeters). I think website is tekneticst2.com/ you can read & if you like download the manual. Best wishes, George (MN)
