"Post" holiday crowd detecting

I'm heading to a beach in southern Cali that was crowded from the memorial weekend people. Anyone else find that usually yield some good finds? If so anyone have any success stories or tips from post holiday detecting?

Sure, If you're looking for fresh drops, get there early (before dawn or the night before) and hit the blanket line. Otherwise go at a real low tide and work the wet sand or water.
