Finally broke down and ordered/won it on an auction site. It has the reinforced backing on the basket and is about 41". Do i live near the beach.... nope, but it sure will help during freshwater hunts and beach vacations.

For under $100 including shipping, it was hard to pass up. It's replacing my POS plastic handheld scoop. It's worthless.

Jay, unless you are digging heavy gravels, I would have recommend looking into an aluminum scoop.
I have a stainless 40+". It's gets heavy after a while and I got one of the lightest ones.
I will soon be buying an aluminum scoop. I don't use one enough to wear it down in a lifetime.

Most of the streams and rivers here in western pa are gravel (rocky bottom). I figured to get a better scoop especially for the price. I saw the aluminum ones, but figured i'd get one eventually since they cost less. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
