Here is the stuff I found at the missile base today, nothing overly good but I did find 2 wheat pennies and the rest are 1960s. The quarter is so close...1965.

That thing at the bottom has an eagle on it but it's really dirty so I can't see anything else.

I think I'll tumble some of this stuff to bring out the details and get off all the dirt and rust.

Thanks

I'm definitely gonna hit it a few times because the area is huge.

Here are some pics from the place by the way. I don't mind sharing the info. Hell if someone is local to that, I'd love a regular digging partner!

The tough part is that they completely bulldozed and cleaned it out last year so none of the buildings are there. They ripped up most of the foundations too so it's really hard to tell where I am exactly. Carrying that overhead picture and using google maps photo view helps though.

mr helton, i believe that item on the bottom is a rank insignia for enlisted personnel, E-4 specialist, however, that insignia is for the u.s. army.

Looks like a great spot. Google Earth is a big help, but sometimes I use Penn- Pilot Photo centers, It seems to go back farther time wise than Google Earth. Nice finds HH
