Its a neat little shovel. Much less expensive than the Lesche or Predator. Ive never owned either of those so I cant really compare them as far as functionality goes. I was a bit concerned about the Lil Diggers fiberglass shaft but it seems sturdy enough and it keeps the weight down. Sometimes I think my gator hand digging tool seems to weigh more. The shovel blade rocks. The notched edges make cutting through tough sod and roots a breeze.

The Japanese gardening tool, the hori hori knife is an awesome digger. It's great at cutting surgical plugs in the soft Missouri soil. I have gotten very good at using this tool! They are much less expensive than the gator or leshe. The only drawback is that the fulcrum that you have with with the others, you do not have with the hori hori. Check it out though. You may just find your new favorite digger.
