So yesterday at work i got amped up all day long to go to this old house i got permission to hunt at. I recently found an 1820 dime in Kentucky so needless to say Ive got the fever bad! Anyways, I was google mapping the house in an effort to plan what areas id hit first. I drive home, grab my tesoro silver, start driving down the road and....BAMM raindrops started hitting my windshield!!!! It was coming down pretty good so i grumbled, probably cursed under my breath, and headed back to my house to sit on the couch.

That was the last straw so today after lots of research in the past month, I bought the AT pro adventure pack from Bart---never again will i be skunked by the rain!!!

Here's to finding my first silver thats not an 1820's dime!!!!

I know the feeling. A couple weeks back it was nice all day at work and then it started raining on my commute home. It literally happened every day for a week. It was pretty awful.

So what? You never heard of a rain cover or plastic bag? Rainy days can be good. Usually cooler and nobody to bug you.....not even the bugs!

Hunting in the rain is just no fun at all, but hunting right after the
rain is the the best time to go, before that soil has a chance to
dry back out. Damp ground generally means that deeper targets
can be found that otherwise might get passed over.

We get 75" of rain a year (or better) where I live, and it takes all year
for it to fall. I don't usually mind fishing in the rain, but Th'ing is another
story. Had a CZ-6a for years, and was out every weekend rain or shine.
Soon the Cold/Misery Index began to outweigh the joys of a good find,
and common sense finally set in.

After that, it's wait till it quits raining and then go. It can rain for days and
weeks on end here, so anytime the Sun pops out is a good time to be outside!

If you do plan to hunt in the rain, be sure and get some waterproof britches
to wear. Walking around with soaked pants can bring on hypothermia in a
hurry on a cold day, especially when there's a breeze blowing.
