As long as it wets the ground it is a good rain. Makes for easier digging and may add some depth.

The damp ground is easier to dig and the eddie currants last longer on the target. Besides a fresh rain cleans the air and makes for a nicer hunt fun wise.

Raining on and off all day up here. Have to get out to hunt tomorrow. Rain is a detectorists friend...easier digging/more depth.

Just did a couple of hours at that park. Most clad pulled since I started. It use to be a old fort back in its day. I didn't pull any valuables but one interesting item.

A harness clevis for a wagon. Also I love hunting after a rain, I find targets in areas I've been over times before. And it makes for easier digging or popping and the grass doesn't die as much and the plugs stay in instead of breaking up.

I'm still new to detecting but have already noticed, like others have mentioned, it it much easier to dig a clean plug in damp soil.I also seemed to get hits a little deeper too.
