I soak them in olive oil for a day, then use a q tip and scrub them gently. They clean up real nice

I've found several wheat pennies wondering if any1 had any methods for cleaning them.and if the same method will work on a buffalo nickel.

Wheat pennies = ammonia. Nickels = naval jelly.

If they aren't valuable, I tumble mine in sand or pea gravel just to make them look better.

Some guys use vinegar and salt and tumble them but don't mic clad or silver with them. Most wheaties have little value so I wouldn't worry how to clean them unless of course you have a great find them take it to a collector for adivce

Any info on the salt & vinegar ratios? I'd like to try this. Thanks!

I have used Glisten a dishwasher cleaner and they clean up nice , just don't clean your clad with them unless you want them all to look like copper, I do this in a tumbler with gravel

Boil peroxide and drop the copper in it and once it stops bubbling use a tooth pick tk clean it.
