It was my first time to this particular area.. I imagine after some time I'll get it cleaned a bit and narrow down the areas where I will find a coin didn't find any old ones today.

We hunt a site like that and it seems to give up a old coin for every 30 to 40 hours of hunting which sounds terrible but I'll keep going for a seated every now and then.

Back again.
No coins at all this time.
I could use a few ideas on what the item with the ornate design is.

I figure why start a new thread for the same place.. Dug up a few more things today.
While out there I walked up on a small ring of stones with the charcoaled wood still in the middle of them from a campfire.
A few feet from the fire ring was a small log obviously place there for something to sit on.
I immediately checked directly behind it thinking if something fell out of

A pocket while a person was sitting there that's where it would be it was like I put my coil straight to the nice steady mid tone signal I got.
I pulled a 1923 buffalo nickel from the hole. .. Anyway to keep it short and sweet here's the photos

Nice Buffalo GatorBoy! It's in amazing condition from what I can tell. Is that a horse cameo? I love old relics as much as or more than coins.

I guess you could call it a cameo its a button with that horses head behind glass.
That Buffalo is in great condition I can even see the strands of hair in his ponytail.
Real fun hunt today.

Hahaha. That last picture in the first post looks an awful lot like a stocking clasp off of garter belt.... Just saying...awesome!
