It's a possibility. But the rivets on the other side look too old

Back-of-the-boat........might be right...I checked out some photos of the Old Home sewing machines and it looks like it may fit in someplace....might want to check them out.....Rascus

I really didn't pay much attention to years ...I was just looking to match it up with any part of the machine, though if I had to guess I'd say machines might have been like early 1920 or so. Just type in Home sewing machines....though there are quite a few different sites....like Old Home and New Home...hope that helps.

I dunno I looked at the pics and i don't see we're it would fit anywhere in the machines. It says Rome not home if a him has a sight they see it specifically post it:

Reminds me of a latch or lock from an old bible or some other book. I think it may be to a bible due to the ROME inscription.
