will md sound on fools gold

a neighbor showed me a small rock with streaks of gold and a silver brilance (sp) too. but the gold was more predominate
he had polished it im sure on a bench grinder, said he found it in his garden i didnt have my md wondering if id get a signal if it was fools gold either or something else ..any ideas

regardless i will take my md back and get an answer, then im off to the bare garden

I would suspect you'll get a negative VDI - in the iron range. Give it a try...

yeah I have some and as I recall it most definitely sounds off under a coil. It won't be in gold range but you might dig it. Rock shops sell the stuff - so it is worth something.

Was in colorado recently and spent about an hour pnning his stuff out of the rivers there. Looks really good in the water. THe good thin is I found some real gold while I was at it and was able to be shown the difference.
