So, Whats better, the Garret Ace 250 or the Bounty Hunter 505??

I ran across a couple of deals locally and I'm wondering which of the two would be better should I choose to upgrade to either. I'm also looking for a 2nd detector for my son. He' suddenly very interested given the fact that he watched me find another ring last Friday night in under 5 minutes.

I'm not rushing into either deal but I'm just looking for some feedback in case I decide to get one of the two. It will be for me and I'll pass the Tracker IV to my son. Of course, I'll also let him use either if he wants to.

I like the Tracker IV and I'm getting pretty good with it (I think). I'm just wondering if I should just stick with the same brand I'm used to or diversify a bit.

Both deals I found are about 1/2 of retail so either one will be a good investment even if I choose to sell it later.
