I'm on a tight budget these days (like everyone else) and I was looking to buy a carrying case for my BH Tracker IV. They're pretty cheap but I didn't want to pay for one because I'm saving for a 2nd detector for my son or whomever may tag along.

I found a case for one of those folding beach chairs and my detector fits in there beautifully IF you put it in there just right. It took a minute or two to figure out the best way to fit it in but it works great.

It's tough, super light weight and I can hike with that thing across my back all day across any kind of terrain, up hills, down into valleys or wherever. You hardly even know it's there. It's also waterproof for those days I get caught in the rain.

I just thought I would share for anyone looking for a quick and easy carrying case, who doesn't want to shell out the cash and who happens to have a folding beach chair or two laying around.

Good idea way to think out of the box.

Thanks.
It's more like the way to think when you're outta' cash!!

Nah, I'm actually putting a few bucks into an upgrade early tomorrow. I made a great deal on a BH 202 that I just can't pass up. At this point, a "real" case isn't a priority. My next step will be getting a pinpointer then I'll think about a case.

As far as the beach chair case itself goes, I just happened to notice it was just about the right size so I gave it a try and it worked beautifully.

i use a jan sport duffel bag for my time ranger, it works great there is even room for a second BH and a third lower rod and coil + water and dig tools. can't wait to see your setup.
