Buffalo Gal Won't Ya Come out Tonight

Was out in the yard tonight (learning how to use my AT Pro) and found a lot of foil and junk, but just before quitting I found my first buffalo nickel! And in the same hole was a bonus, a wheat penny. It sure made finding all that foil worthwhile. Only about 95 more hours to go and I'll know this machine lol! Here's my treasure:

70 year old coin! Not too shabby! Wish the Indians came out of the ground better. WTG!

Good find! What's the date? I can't quite make it out.

The penny is 1944d and the buffalo nickel doesn't have one. I saw another thread where someone wrote in that they had found two buffalo nickels that didn't have dates and someone said that was very common. Either way, I was pretty tickled to find them.

A good loupe might help you make it out. If not, some Nic-a-date will usually bring up enough details to read it.

I found a 1922 buff.... next to the hole that someone dug! They must have thought it was trash.... and obviously they need glasses cause they missed the buff! I have posted this buff a few years ago. It came from the SW corner of Kinnikkinic and Howard in Milwaukee, WI. I took about 28 wheats 3 or 4 mercs and a silver quarter (and the buff) from that lot over the course of a summer. I only found one clad penny there. TTC

Congratulations on your finds, the good thing is you didn't have to go very far to find them! Most people don't realize the treasures they have in their yards. HH
