I found this bit of metal in an old park.

-it's very heavy for its size
-rings in between 60-65 on the at pro
-ran it under hot water for a while and then I was able to twist and break it

Is it lead?

Thanks!

I stepped in something at the park today that looked just like that.

If it was lead it would have a gray color on the inside. Do you have any old volcanos or lava flows in your area? I have a piece similar to yours that is half the size of a golf ball and weighs 2.77oz, to me it feels like a piece of iron from one of our old volcanos we have around here...and yes it could pass as a squashed moose nugget at first glance.

Hahaha, you kneel in dog poop once and now everything is poop!

Too heavy to be doopie and besides, it doesn't taste like it at all! Normally it'd have a more nutty flavor.

Kidding aside it sort of acted like very tough taffy and snapped when it was warm. No old lava flows here in Chicago. It does have a gray color in some areas so I assume its lead. I could heat it up and melt it to make something out of it.
