I just picked up a copy of "Treasure hunting" Britain's best selling metal detecting magazine at Barnes and Noble, it wasn't cheap $10.50.

Must say I am right impressed, plus I had to wear a bib while reading it and looking at the pictures, as I drooled so much over the finds posted.

Purchased this mths W&E and LT mags at the same time, must admit I was a lil disappointed in them after the Treasure hunting mag from over the pond.

i get eastern and western treasures and lost treasure. both are monthly publications, LT has an article on state tales, wehre they do tales from 3 differnt states each month. both mags have equipment reviews, W&E has a good question and answer section, kinda a what is it articles form readers. both IMO are good reads. on a side note i also enjoy the ads and seeing what new gear is comeing out, abouthe only magazines i like for the ads...some other books i like are the then and now books about my local area, usually you can find a park in there and some of the bigger trees make good referance points.

I also subscribe to Western & Eastern, and Lost Treasure magazines.
I have some catching up to do with my reading, I need a magazine holder to go on my snow shovel.

Western & Eastern Treasures is still My Favorite.
& I subscribe.
I would like to see them become a Supporting Member again.
it's always nice to see they get allot of their Best find issue from Members here.
and is an all around Finds & how to Magazine.

Lost treasure is a bit less Expensive for a yearly subscription ,
but is mainly Treasure Stories & Detector reviews.
I haven't subscribed recently.

I only ever subscribed to American Digger the first year.
not sure if it still is, but it was made of nice heavy Stock.
Only problem I had with it was it seemed to be more a small Club.
In other words all finds seemed to be by the same people every month.
Perhaps it was because they were new.
or perhaps it was because every month the finds seemed to be the same types of relics.
Or it was a club magazine. That's not a Put Down.
Just personal opinion on what I remember.
I won't subsribe again till I know better & I won't Know better without a
years Subscription
:( Catch 22 :( I can't take others word because everyone has different likes

Gold Prospectors & Treasure Hunters Magazine from the GPAA
has some nice articles on occasion & How To's but is Loaded with Advertising.
that was always OK with me because it kept prices way down compared to the others.
But since the Take over, it seems they believe the Eastern half of the Country is non existant,
except during their Subscription & Member Drives :(
so if they wish to ignore Pennsylvania, I'll ignore them.

European Magazines are probably real Nice to look at.
But cost prevents me from getting a chance to enjoy them.
$60 to $100 a year is outrageous.

the only thing I ever paid $100 for was the Uncommon Sense newsletter from
E. Earl Webb (E. Earl Webb's "Wizard") was different, and at times very hard to believe But I did learn from it.
but for some reason they had problems remembering I had a subscription.
I always had to write & Remind them :( was pre-computer days.
eventually they claimed to have another subscriber with the same name,
and he was shipped my issues :( eventually he ran me off a ton of back issues & sent them all at once.

Not printed anymore that I'm aware of, But if you can find a Complete copy.
I highly Recommend it

You could subscribe to the 'Australian Gem and Treasure' magazine, some good stories in it, but full of adds for Minelab. I miss getting my issues of W&ET, might subscribe to that one again.

If you like really old stuff, there is a magazine from Great Britain called "The Searcher." Very well written, lots of info. One of the posters here "John Winter" is the assistant editor of the magazine. Very professionally done. They take their detecting very serious over there.
