We have done well in plains. There's no snow or frost over there. Have you made it out yet?

Hit the lake a couple times, lots of clad and fishing tackle. Sure felt good to be out though.

Oooh, that is a nice spot! Makes me wonder, though, at all the old places, how often did people lose change? Of course, there's aways the chance that a $20 gold piece just "fell out" while someone was drunk, and they couldn't find it.

That's the lure, anyway. :)

Skippy I think your right. The owner told us it was his great grandpa's and we wouldn't find any coins and he was right. Just a lot of old rifle casings and a buckle and a,few buttons.

Too bad. But still, there's always the thrill of the hunt! I've found that old farmsteads just aren't the place to find coins..> not unless there were gobs of kids. Coins were commonly kept in the house unless needed, then retrieved. Occassionally folks will get really lucky and find a stash or two, but that's not been my experience. Just iron, iron, bullets, and more iron.

One day, though, I'll find that drunk guy's place and hit the jackpot!
