In the last two hunts I've had, I've found 4 rings. 2 junk, 1 novelty (still trying to figure out what kind of metal), and one Tungsten Carbide. It was a GREAT way to end up the Month. :)

Here's the Novelty ring (I could be having a problem trying to figure out what metal it is, because it was forged in the fires of Mount Doom. The sucker is HEAVY... but I don't think it's gold. When I polished it, it definitely took on a silvery sheen as the gold outer wore off... Whatever metal is underneath (steel maybe?) it's definitely weighty... Fun ring, though!)

The second one (Tungsten Carbide, with a G and halo hallmark) I found, yesterday, on my lunch hour. Sold it to a coworker for $10 today... he was looking for a more comfortable fit on his ring. Works for me!

Headed to the silver shop today to pick up a two rounds because it's Payday... With my metal detecting finds in the last 2 weeks, I'll be able to get a 3rd.

Fun!

Well... The men were given 7 of them. I'd thought they were all with the Ring Wraith's, but apparently, they've been passed around.

LOL

Those LOTR rings are potmetal (mostly zinc) with a gold-colored plating

So your saying it's not forged from Mount Doom? :sadsmiley:

It'd better be... For the time I spent wrestling with that smallish person to get it back (I FOUND it... not him), it ought to be real!

Don't be a "fool of a Took!" You're supposed to "keep it secret, keep it safe." Now the Nazgul, who troll this site, know where the "One ring" is and will be hunting for you. Better toss it in a volcano. On a serious note, I have one of these and they are just pot metal with fake gold plating. A friend gave it to me as a gift as they knew how much of a Tolkien nerd I am. Cool find though. HH:thumbsup:

One of my daughters made this for me. This was her first time wood burning.

WELL DANG! That's pretty dang good! My first attempt at woodburning was my last name on a 2x4. I'm FAR more impressed with that!
