Hi,

I hope it's okay to post this here.

I'm doing some research using the Portable Antiquities Scheme and have a quick survey (only 2 questions) I'd be very grateful if some of you could find the time to complete. It's about what you feel the perceptions of metal detecting is amongst professional archaeologists.

Thanks.

1. What do you feel is the perception of metal detecting amongst archaeologists?
Neutral

2. How do you feel the perception of metal detecting amongst archaeologists has changed since the finding of the Staffordshire Hoard in 2009?
No change

Comments: In my area. Toronto Ontario Canada. The archaeologists are only interested in objects 300 years or older and these items are not metal. Their all about the euro-Canadian. Its mostly beads and arrowheads... However, there is a law that anything removed from its found location and meets the requirement of 300 years, you could be charged under the heritage act. We are after 1800s Coinage so they really don't care and the law is a toothless lion...
