Today I meet up with Baspinall for a morning hunt at Ridley Creek State Park. In the woods picture wild sticker bushes everywhere. I had the XLT with me and the round enclosed coil does work well in this type of environment. I used mixed mode since there was little room to swing and you can find the target with the nonm-motion mode without ever being over it then pinpoint to check DC phase and depth, then sing to see if the VID is close between the non-motion and motion. Tone-id help as well when you are swinging when nothing is discriminated. (modified C/J config).
Lots and lots of bottle caps, pulls and cans.. not much coinage but lots of trash. Near the end of my allotted time along a wire fence line separating the public park from the Colonial Plantation I got a solid signal that I figured was a bottle cap as it was jumping around the quarter range. I knew I had to leave soon and had dug very few targets so I figured I would dig this one. only about 3" down.. Oh My not a cap...

10k filled :BangHead: Well at least it is not trash!

At least its a ring, and you were searching the right area so there might be a 14-18k nearby. Also your detector is working well, i keep finding stainless spinner rings and kids junk rings by my beach, at the end its all fun.
