Me and my detecting buddy hit and a lot that a just had the house demolish. I've been wanting hunt it and finally did, and glad we did and to my surprise found a a1914 barber dime I was looking for 1940 /50s coins but not a barber !! Also a found a W.R.A 30 G 1906 cartilage .

Nice. I love demolition hunting. If the old houses had those raised wooden porches, sometimes coin can be under them. And if they scrape the front lawns of those with tractor blades, then that can be fun too.

It's always a pleasant surprise to find a coin that is older than expected on a property. Congrats o the Barber. I tend to shy away from some demo'd home sites. Around here they seem to lay 4-6 inches of soil over the whole site which moves many keepers down to 12 inches or deeper. I have also experience digging a lot of lead (from the roof flashing and older plumbing), aluminum (from siding) and copper (from flashing and piped) from those sites with very few coins being pulled. I guess if I put a few days in at digging the trash, it might unmask the deep keepers. I'd rather detect a property prior to demolition if at all possible.

Yea I see what mean the property just had the house demolish and surrounding area was left alone and also old burn trash pit there's is where the barber was found

I found a lot which had a building removed long ago .. it has not been covered with dirt, but as you said it is littered with bits of electrical wiring (copper and silver), confetti, nails, flashing, even bits of plumping still in place, etc. It's a nightmare to hunt. I did find a few clad pennies. I think it was probably a commercial property which is why I haven't found much very interesting yet.

I may try again... I dunno.
