Curious if dog-license tag collecting is big in the USA, or if only a few people collect antique and vintage tags.

I've had some offers for this particular 1893 dog tax tag I found a few days ago.

Oddcoins would be thrilled to see that, and yes, old dog tag collecting, while not very widespread, has its enthusiasts, myself included.... great find!!!

There's not a lot of vintage dog license collectors out there. Perhaps 20 or 30 nationwide? And no pricing guide or reference type books yet establishing values, rarities, etc.... But basically the pre 1900 dog licenses fetch the most value. Because that was in an era before most cities had dreamed up the revenue stream (nor would average folk comply I guess). And the further you go west, the more rare it is for dog licenses to pre-date 1900. Thus yours would be a good one!

I just sold a Pacific Grove, CA 1893 (counterstamped over 1890) dog license for nearly $280-ish on ebay. So I'm guessing yours would fetch similar ? Congratz.
