The best guy I have found who has good detecting practices and is very clear on what he's doing with the detector. Great videos. I also like George Kinsey and Relics1864. DetectorComparison does the best underwater videos I've seen.

I agree, Beau Ouimette (Aqua Chigger) and Nugget Noggin hands-down are my two favorites.

I have watched every one of Nugget Noggin's videos that I could find and it's hard to beat his enthusiasm, optimism, and his excitement over just about everything he digs up ("Wooooooowwwwwww!!! That's OLD!") *L* However, in the last couple of videos that I watched he has introduced a new "feature" that is a little... um, off-putting, so to speak. If you can get beyond that, though, he still makes very entertaining videos.

Another one I like a lot is from Germany, Terra Germania (Hans) makes TV-quality videos and he also makes some wonderful, very old finds - Roman, Celtic, medieval, 1700's, 1800's, etc.... very interesting stuff!

As annoying as he can be, Jeff Williams has a bunch of very good and informational videos on gold prospecting/detecting.

I also like nuggetnoggin and Bill and Howard from the dig fellas series. While not so much prospecting as detecting, these guys make great videos. But Jeff is king. There is a old guy in Arizona, cant remember his name. He runs a pay to play over there. If I remember his name Ill bump up the thread.

Things that I DON'T like to see (or hear) in a detecting video:

Exaggerated enthusiasm.

Long, cinematic lead-ins that take up half the video.

Titles that sound more like a professional archaeological expedition rather than a hobbyist on a weekend hunt.

Requests to subscribe to someone's youtube channel.

Heavy metal music. :headbang:

Rap music. :cussing:

Slick comparisons of two or more machines of different brands, usually involving depth or target separation, and always leading to a clear winner.

Ok, enough negativity. Here's some things that I DO like to see in a video, and there's plenty of examples out there:

Real hunts with live digs by regular, every-day detectorists whose only motivation is to share their love for the hobby with the rest of us.

Real enthusiasm for a good find. This may involve dropping the camera or letting fly with an expletive or two, but that just helps to convey the finder's excitement.

In-field comparisons with different machines on unknown targets by people who have no reason to promote one brand over another.

Videos that demonstrate a machine's capabilities without exaggerating its strengths or minimizing its weaknesses.

Anything that teaches me something new about a particular machine, or a hunting technique, or just plain helps make me a better hunter.

It's not easy to make a good detecting video. Probably a lot more work than most people realize. A big THANK YOU to those that do it right! Two of my favorites: "DirtFishing" and "relics 1864"
