Newbie, how do people get in on the DIV digs? Is it invitation only?
Diggin in Virginia XXVIII was in 2014 I think they may have already done the next one, it's a large number of hunters from all over.

What does "DIV" stand for ?

It's a big deal in the east. A bunch of people (like hundreds of them) go hunt farm fields with PI machines, in search of CW relics. It's been going on for many years. Many of the NC locals attend.

Yep... Diggin' in Virginia holds several hunts per year during the spring and fall in well known Civil War winter encampents. They hold signups on the website dedicated to their hunt (sorry, I don't think I can post it on here) and they sort through the signup list to invite a group to the site. The hunt in November is already planned, but there is a chance that the organizers may invite you if you ask now.... just go over there and send a PM or email to Rose K. She will let you know if you can be added to the alternate list, which they draw from in the event people drop out (which is often).

Hope that helps!
