I'm looking for my first one to be used for relic treasure and nugget shooting. I know that's a big order and to ad to it, it needs to be easy to carry on a horse. I know big order but I was thinking about a gold bug.
I can tell you I know what I'm doing with it cause I held one once many years ago lol. As you can see any help/ advice would be appreciated

This is kind of hard to answer well as a good relic detector won't be good for nuggets. For nuggets I'd go with a Tesoro Lobo SuperTRAQ. Relics need a Tejon because of the Depth if reaches.

Gold bug Pro, G3+ or F-19 or Xterra 705.
Some people say a T2 actually does well on nuggets and the T2 Classic has been re-introduced at an great price of $499 retail.
