New Digger
Have been using my new DFX for two weeks now in Myrtle Beach. Last Sunday we experience a Nor-easter that stripped all of the top sand off of the beach for the entire length of the Grand Strand. MD-ing has been phenomenal. Serious clad can be found now where the dunes once existed.
Two hours of digging yesterday yielded over $10 in clad and one gold class ring.

Re: New Digger
I'm definitely ready for a big find. Not sure if the wife was expecting this to become an addition so soon though. I've taken her back with me to one 50 yard stretch of beach four times in the last two days. Just when I think there's nothing more to find, I get another hit. Just this afternoon was another $2+ in clad and another ring.

Re: New Digger
Originally wanted a detector just to help find and remove construction debris from our new homesite. Saw a lot of cheaper detectors that would have been fine for that purpose, but much less effective on the beach. So, decided to go more high-end, clean the yard and then have some fun with a machine that had some horsepower.
I must admit that I haven't advanced past the DFX pre-set programs, but they have been performing great as I'm learning. I'm up to about $25 in clad and now four rings removed from the beach just this past week. However, I think that things are going to be slowing down soon. The beach is beginning to look like a moonscape with all of the other detectors realizing how easy the pickings are after our last storm.

Re: New Digger
Welcome jefflob. You are in a prime spot. No matter how many sweep the area, there will always be more to find. Many people just sweep the area and don't really search it. They have cheap equipment or have it setup wrong. I have seen people in the park MDing and not find anything, someone goes over the area they just left and finds lots of stuff.
Well, welcome and hope to see lots of pics of your rings and other good stuff.

Re: New Digger
The beach here has been great hunting lately. You are right. That's why I haven't been posting. I'm either working or detecting. With all the trouble Onionhead has had I no longer post my finds, but they're going great here in Myrtle Beach.
Jefflob, I sent you a PM. Sorry it took so long. Been hitting the beach like crazy and it finally slowed down a bit, for now. Can-Am days is this weekend, and Spring Breakers will be arriving early next week. Stock up on the batteries.
xXx
