What's your best scratchy signal find?

I got thinking about scratchy signals and how sometimes you find something great,
What's your best scratchy signal find?
Here is mine, they were in the same hole with tones of nails, not pictured is a 1935 Washington that I found a few inches under them.

Mine was a 1916 Barber dime. Was CW relic hunting in a place that we had all but cleaned out. I was digging every single I got because of where we were and how clean the ground was. It was a weak iron signal that said deep. Turned out to be a nail and the Barber at about 7 inches. Hard to say what we leave behind.

Found an 1886 Morgan Silver dollar in a lake. It was covered in corrosion, and I thought at first it was just junk. Probably one of my favorite individual finds so far.

Water hunting, got a chirpy signal (bottle cap), with a slightly audible tweet, after the swing.....
Pulled up the beer cap and a ladies 10K sapphire and diamond waterfall ring.
(sorry I can't post pic, it's in the bank safe, atm)
oh pardon, is scratchy the same as chirpy? :icon_scratch: :laughing7:

1887 Liberty V Nickel. Found in the prairie on the way to an old mine. I always swing the detector from the time I get out of the pickup until I get back. My thinking is that man has set foot on every foot of ground and lost something along the way. At 71 Father Time is chasing me so I have to swing while I can.

Was swinging near some swings in a park, got a scratchy, probably junk tone, swept on a bit, thought it over and went back to retrieve it. Turned out to be a small, silver scotty dog charm from a charm bracelet.

I dug this Walker last month at a local school... 6 Ft. from the building... in the nail halo! It was about 6" down with all sorts of trash around it, but it made a little chirp on the Deus. This place has been hunted for years by everyone, and I was told that I would find nothing!

I've read many stories like that here on T-Net, about people finding something on the way to and from their car. Nice job!

Best scratchy turned out to be a 3rd century Silver Roman Ring. Was really surprised when it came up.

Folks, Here's a couple more iffy finds I've made.

Folks,

A couple more iffy finds I've made....those who've detected for awhile will tell you that thin chains and bracelets are tough targets...unless they're all together in a clump.

The chain and locket are 10k and gave off a scratchy signal luckily when I ran the coil over it several times I picked up the locket part which was more of a solid signal....the bracelet is the purest gold find I've made stamped 800 or 19.2k and Portugese made....both in the missus possession now.

Regards + HH

Bill

My Best scratchy find was a 1940 walker. I found this target showing a good solid hit in the middle 80's using a V3i but when I went to pinpoint it there was nothing there. Spent more time X crossing using discrimination and again pinpointing showed nothing. I moved out from the discrimination location and found two silver/copper locations pinpointing about a foot away 8" dp from where discrimination was showing the location. Then I dug a large plug about 10" diameter and found nothing in the bottom of it. I finally got a hit on the pinpointer on the side of the plug toward where discrimination was showing the target. I cleaved away about a 4" plug on the side, removed the plug and pinpoint a target about 7" down. I saw something sticking out of the hole that looked like the edge of a bottle cap on about a 45deg angle. When I plucked it out there it was I was so excited first thing I did was run to the truck and put the coin inside afraid I was going to loose it.
