There's an air test improvement but in ground you could be getting less depth. Depends on how hot the ground is and the amount of rubbish.
On my low minerals test bed the gain was around one inch on most coins. No increase on a small platinum engagement ring.
With the high mineralisation bed most items showed no improvement and fine gold lost depth.

Brian is right about the depth on larger coils. They are barely deeper, but in bad ground they are also seeing more minerials and to much sensitivity gets less depth.
