Went detecting at my in laws property where a house built in the 1760's once stood. I found what I think to be a large cent first. Then I found the 1912 Dime. My first silver coin ever found. Was really happy and was about to pack up when I pulled out the standing liberty quarter. Walking to my car is when I found what I believe to be a cut piece of eight silver coin. I really have no clue though. I posted the cut coin in the what is it forum and will update if I get an answer.

4 very nice Keepers. Have you dug many SLQ's? I finally found one 23 months into this hobby.

Nope these were my 3 silvers ever dug. Not bad firsts to have. The 1912 dime was the first ever. The SLQ was 2nd and right before I packed up for the day I dug the cut Reale

I hope that you realize how nice all of those coins are. The LC is an old one, draped bust I believe, and the cut Spanish silver is just AWESOME. SLQs are hard to find because they were only made for 16 years.

That is probably the best "first" silvers that I have seen in a very long time. Congratulations!

Congratz! That's a good way to start your silver coin collection! The ATP will find more silver for ya if my hunting buddy's experience is any indicator. I love the SLQ, I still haven't found one! HH

Yeah my heart is still racing every time I look at them. I think I'm going to be spoiled for the next silver I find and I'm disappointed it's only a Rosie or something similar.

Great finds for your first silvers! Still looking for my first silver coin. You give me hope because I'm going to buy an AT Pro later today. Will be a big step up for me.

Those are great first silvers! Heck, my first silver was ONLY a 1954 quarter, haha. Big congrats to you!

Update:

I was able to finally return to the same property for a short 45 minute hunt on mothers day. Was able to find a super slick wheat penny and another very worn Standing liberty quarter with no date again. ( My 2nd one found on this site) Cant wait until the summer when I can hit this site hard for a solid few days.

What a site you have to search! I'll bet you a dated SLQ that you passed right over some nice finds. Go back over the same exact area only at a 90% angle (grid) and dig all iffy signals. The deeper the better.

Amazing first silvers...Grats to ya and .... ...... ........ HH ALL!
