the button doesn't appear to be old. However, I see a rim-fire, I think, in the pix of your casings. The center bottom one. If so (if it's not a center-fire), those are older casings (1870s, etc...)

Hey Tom this is the one you talking about, you know type of gun it was used, it looks like a rim fire cartridge

Yes, that's a rim-fire shell. Not sure of the exact type or ID, but just basically a rim-fire. Those started in the 1860s, and went up through the turn of century. Naturally there could still be people firing them even after the introduction of center-fire bullets. Because, of course, people could still use older guns, even after the introduction of newer types.

I did a little research and S.A.W stands for Sage ammunition works from 1862 to 1867 and RDs for the spencer rifle
