One option would be a Garrett Ace 250....light, reasonable price and easy learning curve.

you can get an atpro,pinpointer,digger and pouch for under $800.00

the advantage is that if you dont take to the hobby nothing is easier to sell.

Can't go wrong with the AT Pro. I started with the Ace 250 which is a very capable entry level machine. I up graded to the Pro and my daughter " confiscated " my Ace 250. Good luck.

Went with the AT Pro- should have been delivered today but nope- hoping tomorrow. Went with the coil package so I got the 5x8 coil. Hoping for so fun. Thanks for all the help.
