Vibra Probe pinpointer

If you go with a pinpointer the Vibra probe 560 is the best choice. It is great quality and water proof. DJs Detectors has them on slae for 99.00 shipped to lower 48 this month.

Vibra Probe

I can say i've been more than impressed with my Vibraprobe. It's a beautiful piece of work.

I've got an XLT and i've been thinking the same way since the MXT came out, and i'll most likely grab a bigger coil before I go for a new detector.

There are drawbacks tho, with extra depth and more ground coverage comes poor discrimination. So your best bet is a big coil for clear areas and a small coil for trashy work.

If nothing else you might be able to rent a larger coil from a local store and try it out before you decide on buying one.

I'm running a new MXT with the standard 10" coil and looking for a smaller one! It will reach 10 to 12 inches but I pick up all kinds of junk. I also don't beleave you will get a pin-pointer to pick up anything that deep.
Good Luck, I've been wrong befor :?

Thanks for the tips!

Do all coils work with all detectors? Or do you have to have brand specific coils?

some coils work on differant detectors but you nead to make sure it will fit YOUR detector! From what I've heard that your trying to do you might want to look into a BigFoot coil. It has a large footprint but a narow "v" and go's pritty deep. I'm not sure of the actual specks but it's like 4" X 12" so you will get good groung coveage with a fine discrimination that will alow you to"look between the trash!"
