Sorry folks, the title may be a bit misleading...........
This is an 1800's Victorian farm that has been in the owners' family for 100+ years. It was occupied by a tenant farmer until 1939 and then by the family of the current owner. She had a very detailed memory of the location of the hen house, the privy, the family garden, the ash pit, the oldest trees no longer standing.........all the areas we look for.............and she assured me there would be no bonanza of coins. She was right.........
Well, the first 4 signals I dug........were all horseshoes..........pictures available upon request............
Spent 2 hours along the driving loop that goes behind the house, between 2 barns and down the other side of the lot to the main road. Then another hour along the side of the house. The "luck" came later. I was able to retrieve a couple of items for the owner that had been recently lost. And, I was not only invited back, but invited to detect several other of her properties at my convenience......
I did find a couple of wheats........1934 and 1940...............
.....and some interesting odds and ends..............
