This is just a box with holes in the top and sides, and two 5000k bulbs (daylight) shining through white cloth (I used a baby blanket). The bottom is lined with a piece of pure white poster board curved from bottom to back so you don't see any transition.

That's awesome! I think part of the fun of metal detectin is making things for your Hobbie. You could sell those on ebay

That's so cool! Your pictures are gorgeous. Love the white seamless background. What kind of camera are you using with your light box?

That's great! Your light box build gave me ideas, on how to improve my 10 dollar eBay light box...Thanks!
The curved white poster board bottom will "fix" my cheapo light box. Football for size reference.

Nice Job on the box! Do you think that would work with a cheaper camera like a CoolPix using Macro?

I think were going to be seeing more posts with pics like those. Very Nice:thumbsup:

Yes! You should be able to get great results with any camera. The advantage of using a DSLR instead of a point and shoot is that you have much better control over lighting + can shoot in RAW format, but any camera will still get good results.

Have you tried any other colors of background for comparison? Depending on the color of the subject, another contrasting color might work better?

No, but I have some nice black felt cloth that I think would be great for coins
