Can someone tell me more about this?

I just metal detected this piece where I have found some old V nickels from the other day. Can someone else out there with more knowledge than I tell me a little more about this?

I can only tell you that it's not from 1830. The 1830 is in reference to some religious thing that happened in 1830.

The corrosion tells me that it's pewter/pot metal.....maybe anodized aluminum.

As Tom Slick says, the date 1830 refers to some appearance of a miracle or vision of a saint or whatever. That medal appears to be very modern (1970s to the present).

Look on eBay. Fake looking ones
Are translated in English. Yours looks more authentic? Maybe!
