I'm thinking 1940s-50s. I've found around 5-6 of those stupid things,a few were just half the tube which made it sound and size like a big silver. Pretty annoying....

Thanks I was thinking 1920's but you may be right couldnt see any propery photos on the internet only advertising posters. what makes you think 40's to 50's?

Here is one that looks a lot like yours from 1955. That style cap was used then.. also they would have used the same design (font and colors) during the same time period. Some people find that stuff annoying, but I love finding every day objects from the past like that.
