So just got my new Garrett ace 400 had a little time before I had to be anywhere so I get it together and go sweeping around the yard. Little hits that don't make sense then a nice hit. I start digging just to find an old piece of tin roofing about 2" square. That was a bummer. Then I move a couple feet over get another good hit. I'm thinking, more tin roofing. I dig about 4" deep and still not seeing anything. Start using pin pointer and it hits on a rock. A rock?? I'm new to this MD stuff. Didn't know I'd find rocks! [emoji23]

They're called "hit rocks," and it's their mineral content that triggers the machine.
