Visited 3 different church yards and found 1 coin each. It's really crazy how you can go out with the greatest of expectations one day and come home with nothing but a sack full of trash, and the next day be rewarded with finds like these. 1838 Large Cent, 1892 Indian, 1906 Indian. If anyone could clue me in on the silver colored blemishes on the Large Cent, that would be great. Being composed of copper I'm not really sure what to make of this. It was the first thing that stood out to me when I pulled it from the dirt. 1494018105332.jpg 1494018122651.jpg
**On a side note I would like to share, the church yard that I had found the Large Cent, my mother had told me that my father whom I lost 3 years ago, which was my hunting partner, she told me that he had hunted the yard quickly not too long before he had passed away. My first reaction when I found it was out loud, "Oh dad... you missed one..." It was like I could feel close to him again for that brief moment...

Cool finds. Maybe Dad didn't miss it, maybe he left it for you!

Maybe someone tried to coat the large cent with mercury?

What great moment on a great day. Thanks for sharing that side note. I lost my mom two years ago and she saved Dimes for some reason just dimes. I started metal detecting after she passed and now every time I find a dime, which is very often, I think about her. I sure do miss my momma.

Great finds! The silver on the large cent reminds me of silver solder for some reason.
