We have a winner DoToChina with a guess of $26.01 was closest without going over.

Congrats to all and thanks for playing!

Contest ends Saturday 12.16 @ 8:00PM

Fine print:
Guess the amount that CoinStar gave me, less their take. One guess per person. Closest without going over.

I throw the pouch contents in a jar in the garage. Periodically I tumble it and dump it in the CoinStar. Here is a pic of the dirty quart.

Here are the cleaned coins.

Here is a picture of the film-flam that also got tumbled. I obviously don’t sort the pouch very well.

Here is the silver quarter that will be awarded to the winner.

Woohoo!

I was just trying to bug tpmetal by going a couple of cents higher than he was (sorry tp) but apparently it's a good thing Davers doesn't know how to use a computer (just kidding Davers (not kidding [emoji6])).

Thank you Tom for the fun contest. Instead of sending a quarter to Canada which is a pain, how about you keep the quarter for another future contest and promise to take me out detecting when I find myself in the Carolinas?

You are most welcome to hunt with me anytime you find yourself in the area. I’ll have that quarter ready and awaiting your arrival sir.

Thanx that was fun Tom.
Now.... let’s chat about your detector settings:

388 pennies and 12 nickels... how many gold rings did you leave behind as a result of not wanting to dig pull tabs... LOL

just messing with you ... Thanx again

You are exactly correct. I am a bit "high strung" and I get mad when I get a bunch of pulltabs. I took me almost two years to dig a buffalo nickel because of this issue. I was doing better, but have slipped back into the "high tone zone". I will work on it. Did you not notice the half dollar on there? I figured people would ask about that.

Next time, why not get an eGift card for Amazon, Home Depot or a number of other retailers and get 100% of your money back from the Coinstar?

Laziness, is the most probable answer. I will get a gift card next, and recoup more of my investment. Thx!
