I am retired and travel full time. I detect every chance I get. Trying to locate places to hunt in new areas all the time can be very challenging and rewarding. I have had the opportunity to visit with and hunt with local MD'ers all over the country. I have met some great people this way.
In was just wondering if there are others on this forum in the same boat?? It would be interesting to communicate with other travellers.

Anyone else travel full or long time??

I WISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would like to be a snowbird and go to AZ for about 12-14 weeks every year and hit the gold fields. Maybe one day...not too far off!

Grats on the lifestyle, enjoy!

You know, I'm an AZ native and never did any nugget shooting. Did do a little panning. Found a little gold, but not much. Just have always liked old coins and naturally gravitated to coin shooting old dirt when I started detecting many years ago.

As soon as I win my millions on the lottery I plan on buying a huge RV and hiring a beautiful female chauffeur, who has a liking for me. Maybe swap out the chauffeur every now and then. I will be the only millionaire out digging pennies on a daily basis. Travelling around, hunting with my Tnet friends from coast to coast.

I am a traveling MD'erist, but business travel. Found that it makes sense to pack the detector for trips to the East Coast locations or beach locations. Other areas take too much time with research to pay off. Good luck!

Hey MDers, I get down to Florida for 4 months/yr and detect 2-3 days/wk, all day on the beach and in the water. My bones ache by the end of the day swinging my CTX3030 w 17"coil and lugging around my front-loader Stealth scoop with 8 lb handle and loving every minute. Hours go by in minutes...

Terrible way to have to live!
We aren't going into Florida this year, but I will beating up the gulf coast beaches this winter.

I’m saving for this model, so I can have something to drive to my metal detecting sites with.

I live in MS but there isn't much in the beaches here. All the beaches have been renewed since Katrina and they are dredging sand to rebuild some of the beach area now. Like any beach it where you find it. A good 4 hour hunt rarely produces more than $3- $4 in clad
