    More 1812 stuff.

I have nothing new to post so I am showing some of my collection of 1812 goodies, weather is not co-operating right now, cant wait to get out again the group of balls are all "buck shot" this was a practice by the US army to fire what was termed "Buck and ball" this would make the surgeons job much harder....BonzClick image for larger version.

I love your stuff, but none of these are Today’s finds. I’ve enjoyed several of your previous posts here, but they’re more “My Best Finds” forum material

That is a great collection of military relics, were they found on several sites or the same site? I see a couple of shoe buckles there. Was there an earlier occupation on the site, or is it strictly War of 1812? I ask because it is generally accepted that shoe buckles were out of style by 1800 and I have never seen a War of 1812 soldier with shoe buckles. Last question, what are the lead horse shoe shaped pieces?
