IMG_3823.JPG Thanks for the input re my cuff link its confusing as they are in bad shape and I cant read any of the words around the lower edge I have put it up again with the best resolution I can, there are clearly two men "of distinction" dressed very elaborately. Both Brits and Us gentry dressed in such a way back then :dontknow::dontknow:
The small belt plate ??? has a "scripted" letter "I" which features a lot on US buttons it looks home made and has been well polished anyone know if there are other examples....

That is a very nice Cufflink. With the 4 corner holes, that plate may have been mounted on something like a suitcase, trunk, etc.
