It's from a "Relco". They were a piece of junk, even at their time.

Do a google search on Relco metal detector (like on google images, etc...), and you'll see that coil type .

Not Relco, but D-Tex. BFO made by Bill Mahan in the 60's.

Carl, yes, I stand corrected. Thanx. Relco had a similar looking coil on a few of their models.

Definitely the D-Tex after you said that I actually dug up that detector from my newly acquired monster collection.
