New metal detector has arrived along with the “new metal detector weather”

My Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro has arrived ($244.38 and Prime shipping) along with the typical “new metal detector weather” I could see slapping something over the control box to weather proof it and heading out for a test run but there is a bit O’ the lightning out just know. No need to go outdoors with a lightning rod in my hand right this second.

First off I like the way the 9volt battery clips into the battery compartment instead of having to snap it into the typical 9volt battery connector. I had previously downloaded the operators manual and skimmed through it but now I can get down to some serious reading before heading out the door with it.

If I have any updates to report I will post them in the Bounty Hunter section of this forum.

Throw a baggie over the control unit to keep the rain off, you might want to put a rubber band on it so it stays though. I used clear saran wrap for my F4 when I hunted in the rain and a piece or 2 of electrical tape to keep it in place. I mainly used Disc 4 and tailored it to me when I swung the BH LRP. Man that detector is super light and it comes stock with the DD coil. Don't forget to run in all metal when you get to a site. Find a quiet patch of ground and then do a ground grab to ground balance the machine.
