Coil cables are not really designed to be replaced, the strain relief point on the coil is a pass through point, not a connection point. What you need is a new connector on the end, problem is they do not sell the connector. If you send it in your looking at about $15 in parts and 30-60 mins labor at $75.00 an hour plus shipping both directions . Estimate $55.00-$90 plus shipping to repair vs $165 for new coil.

Look for a product called Plas-ti-dip, it is spray on rubber coating, it will put a rubber coat back on it. Put a piece of cut tie wrap parallel to cable to add strength to the weak point then spray with plastidip, give it about 4-6 coats.

If it's still working fine, do as TH said and use Plastidip, or, what I have used from time to time, Permatex RTV black. I'd also slit a section of rubber hose over that area to act as a better strain relief.
